Mick Clegg

Elite Strength & Conditioning & Mindset Coach

Spent over a decade as Manchester United's Power Development Coach under Sir Alex Ferguson, working with Cristiano Ronaldo from age eighteen.

Credentials:

Mick Clegg has helped some of the biggest names in football reach their physical peak. As Manchester United's Power Development Coach under Sir Alex Ferguson from 2000 to 2011, he worked with Roy Keane, David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Wayne Rooney, and introduced one of the earliest advanced strength and conditioning programmes in the Premier League.

His best-known work is with Cristiano Ronaldo, who arrived as a slight 18-year-old in 2003 and told Mick he was going to be the best player in the world. Ronaldo later wrote the foreword to Mick's memoir, The Power & The Glory.

Mick's work goes well beyond sets and reps. He believes physical performance and mental resilience should be trained together rather than separately, and that approach helped some of the most scrutinised athletes on the planet stay at the top of their game, season after season. Since leaving United, he has coached athletes from taekwondo to speedway and sits on the scientific advisory board of CogniSens Athletics.

At PEAK4, Mick's approach shapes the Perform pillar, giving ambitious professionals the same physical and mindset principles used to prepare elite athletes.
