PEAK4 is delighted to welcome Duncan Watmore to the team as Head of Elite Performance and Business Development, as he begins an exciting new chapter following his retirement from professional football.

After a distinguished career with clubs including Sunderland and Middlesbrough, Duncan brings first-hand experience of performing at the highest level of elite sport. But beyond his achievements on the pitch, he has always been driven by a deeper interest in what underpins sustainable high performance, from physical preparation and recovery to resilience, mindset and overall wellbeing.
That passion is what first brought Duncan to PEAK4.
Having Duncan join PEAK4 builds on a relationship that has already been developing over recent months. As one of PEAK4's expert contributors, he has helped shape our digital Learning Locker resources, sharing practical insights from elite sport to support learning around performance, recovery and wellbeing. He has also worked directly with our clients, delivering masterclasses that translate the principles of elite sport into practical strategies for leaders, teams and organisations. In addition, Duncan recently joined us on the PEAK4 podcast, sharing his perspective on performance, mindset and life beyond elite sport.
His move into a full-time role is a natural next step.
As Head of Elite Performance and Business Development, Duncan will help develop and deliver programmes that bridge the gap between elite sport and everyday life, supporting individuals, leaders and organisations to optimise physical, mental and emotional performance. Drawing on his own experiences, from competing at the highest level to overcoming significant injuries throughout his career, he'll help translate elite performance principles into practical strategies that create lasting impact.

Mike Phelan, PEAK4 co-founder and ex-Manchester United assistant manager added:
"Duncan has already become a valued part of our journey. He brings a rare combination of elite sporting experience, intellectual curiosity and genuine passion for helping people perform at their best. His values align perfectly with ours, and we're excited to continue building a business that combines cutting-edge sports science with practical, human-centred wellbeing."
Duncan's appointment marks another exciting step in PEAK4's growth as we continue to help organisations unlock sustainable performance through data-led wellbeing, behavioural science and the proven principles of elite sport.
We're absolutely delighted to have Duncan on board and look forward to the impact we'll create together.
